302HQ stainless steel contains up to 0.15% vanadium, 8-10% nickel, no more than 2% silicon, 1% manganese, 0.03% phosphorus and sulfur, and a residual amount of iron. 304 stainless steel contains 18-20% chromium, 8-10.5% nickel, no more than 0.08% carbon, no more than 1% silicon, 2% manganese, 0.045% phosphorus and sulfur, and a residual amount of iron.

Strength and hardness:

Because 302 stainless steel screws contain higher amounts of vanadium and nickel, it is stronger, more ductile, and more difficult to process than 304 stainless steel. Under the same conditions, it has a higher hardness and is therefore used for high-strength applications. 304 stainless steel is softer and easier to process, so it is used in applications that require complex shapes and high precision.

Corrosion resistance:

Both stainless steels are able to provide very good corrosion resistance, but because of their different chemical compositions, they have different properties in different environments. 302HQ stainless steel is more resistant to corrosion at high temperatures and humidity than 304 stainless steel, so it is commonly used in highly corrosive environments such as seawater heaters and automotive exhaust systems. 304 stainless steel is more resistant to general corrosion and rust, so it is usually used in ordinary corrosive environments such as tableware, kitchen utensils and building materials.

Price:

Due to the higher material cost of 302HQ stainless steel, its price is usually higher than 304 stainless steel.

The choice of 302 stainless steel screws or 304 screws depends on the specific application scenario and requirements.
